This year, the numerous rains in April slowed down sowing, causing the rice to be about 10 days late.
In fact, a popular saying goes: “July 26th, in Sant’Anna the rice goes to waste”, but the somewhat anomalous season has stopped its growth.
Today, with the beginning of August and thanks also to the summer heat, the first panicles can finally be seen emerging from the rice plants.
This is a sign that flowering is underway, bringing optimism to the countryside.
All we have to do is wait for the rice to fully ripen!
